The Brief
Magnum Pleasure Store is a limited time pop-up stores that’s opened in a high footfall location of Sydney with primary focus on consumer engagement. This is usually an offline activity where users can walk in to the stores and choose and customise ice creams of their choice including toppings, drizzles, etc.
THE OBJECTIVES
When the Pop-up store came to Sydney, we were commissioned to design and develop digital interventions for the campaign in order to reduce the usual wait time of consumers. In the previous years, an average wait time on a good day was about 45 minutes!
THE CHALLENGE
- To reduce the wait time for users at the stores.
- Give consumers an engaging & intuitive online experience for creating their personalized Magnums.
- Streamline the order process at POS for staff to be able to deliver faster.
- Consumer data collection
CONSUMER EXPERIENCE
We built a visual Mobile-first website for consumers where they could create their Magnums & see how they looked before the staff at the store did. The idea was to indulge their imagination by giving them a platform where they could mix & match the different Magnum bases, toppings & drips and go crazy!
Once they were happy with their creation, all they had to do was show their order number or scan QR code at the store, pay and collect their personal Magnums!
WEB-BASED POS FOR STAFF
We also built an easy-to-use web based POS system for staff at the store to use. The app could not only quickly pull up personal Magnum by reading the order number or QR code, but also allowed staff to create Magnums on behalf of a walk-in customer. The system also had a simple dashboard that displayed data like total sales for the day, popular toppings, Magnum bases, etc to help back-of-office to stock accordingly for the next day.
CONSUMER DATA COLLECTION
An incentive program was also implemented that offered extra toppings to consumers who shared their personal information. The data was collected & submitted to the brand’s CRM system in real-time via API integration.
BACK-OF-OFFICE DATA DASHBOARD
And finally, a custom back-end sales & data dashboard was built too for the store manager to keep a check on the stock, sales and popular toppings, etc.
THE RESULTS
of Magnums sold were created online
Magnums were created by consumers using the site in 52 days
subscribers were collected
